Thoughtful Gifting vs. Last-Minute Gifting

Thoughtful Gifting vs. Last-Minute Gifting

We’ve all been there the last-minute scramble, the rushed purchase, the feeling of grabbing something just to check a box. And while there’s no shame in a little procrastination, Valentine’s Day gives us a chance to pause and think differently about how we give.

Because thoughtful gifting isn’t about timing it’s about intention.

What Makes a Gift Thoughtful?

A meaningful gift doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. It’s about choosing something that feels personal.

I often find myself struggling with thoughtful gift-giving because I want to choose the perfect thing. But the truth is, there usually isn’t a “perfect” gift. I’m trying to remind myself that the best gifts come from choosing something I love or something my family loves...something that holds meaning for us, and sharing that with others.

And speaking of special things…I love sharing Oh Clem with my family and friends. Not just because I work there (though that does make it convenient), but because the people I work with and work for make it a truly meaningful place. Of course I want to share something that feels special to me.

Here are a few of my favorites (or my coworkers favorites) that I gifted this year:

Dainty Bow Huggie Hoop Charm

Micro Tennis Necklace

Pearl Chain Necklace

Bangle Rounded Huggie Hoop

Pearl Chunky Rounded Huggie Hoop

 The Problem With Last-Minute Gifting

Last-minute gifts often come from obligation. Driven by deadlines instead of desire, and while they may look nice on the surface, they can feel forgettable.

Because the truth is people remember how a gift makes them feel, not how quickly it was purchased.

That’s why this year, our (Not) Chocolate Boxes feel like such a standout gift. They’re thoughtfully curated, genuinely special, and, let’s be honest, super cute and memorable.

I gifted one to each of my daughters this year. Since they’re away at college, I loved the idea of sending something in the mail, something full of beautiful pieces that would remind them just how much I love them. I chose the Color Pop Silver Box for my oldest and the Basic Gold Box for my middle daughter.

Choosing two different (Not) Chocolate Boxes was my way of honoring each of my daughters’ unique personalities and styles.

My hope is that these pieces become part of their everyday routines and that each time they wear them, they think of me.

A Valentine’s Reminder

This Valentine’s Day, we hope you feel less pressure to find the "perfect" gift and get to be more present with the ones you love.

Because the best gifts aren’t about the date on the calendar they’re about the meaning behind the choice.

And those are the ones that last far longer than chocolate ever could.
